Black pottery product that comes from the re-interpretation of the traditional pot for cooking rice in the wood oven.
Buying a Bisarro’s piece is more than acquire a mere object, is buying a story. The story our pieces tell is about love, design and tradition. It all starts with the development and design by our design team. Then our producers give shape to ideas using ancestral methods of handcraft and firing process called ”Soenga”, which is the name of the traditional wood-fired pit in the ground, with a reduction fired at 1000 C, which gives the item its black color and some unique patterns from the wood firing. This process makes the pieces color varies between grey, metallic black and black.
Due to these processes, each piece is unique. Each piece has its own character, and its shape and color can vary slightly.
Stains can occur in the pieces, fruit of the firing process, where the fire embraces the clay.
Our pieces are packed manually, wrapped in paper, simulating the newspaper paper used decades ago by the craftsmen. In order to make them safe for travel, sawdust is used, an ecological and biodegradable material, that can be reused, for example, in plant vases..
